
Safecracker Pictures, along with sister production company Viking Film and Television, is set to fully finance and produce a documentary on one of the UK’s leading folk bands: The Demon Barbers. The film will document the history of the band within the context of the resurgent UK folk scene and the evolution of their spectacular road show which uniquely combines traditional folk dance with modern hip hop.
Contributors to the documentary include folk enthusiast and comedian Stuart Lee.
Safecracker is keen to build on the successful UK releases of two award winning traditional folk dance films, feature comedy, Morris: A Life with Bells On and documentary Way Of The Morris.
Viking Film will be shooting the road show at Harrogate Theatre on 1st March. The documentary will be complete in time for their autumn tour in 2012.
